Fast food and diet: The danger of food delivery today

Okay, I admit that I am guilty of it as much as anyone else. All those nights when there just isn’t the energy to cook a healthy meal, do the dishes, and clean up after… it’s much easier to simply sign in online and order from DoorDash, GrubHub, Uber Eats, or even the local pizza joint or other restaurants.

With all of those simple options for membership, including a waive of delivery fees and much more, we face the ease of reducing our activity levels, increasing calorie intake, and reducing the number of quality nutrients taken in with our meals.

Are the rest of you facing this same challenge at any time as well? Is it much easier to order that burger and fries that fill those cravings and ease into the rest of your night without the need to cook and clean up?

I have to think that the option of all these easier meals, and more frequently delivered meals lead to the creation of our “fat America.”

We are often seen as one of the unhealthiest and fattest countries in the world, could this portion of our economy be part of that issue? I have to say that if we were to increase the healthy meals that were available within these services or even reduce the fried and other fatty and greasy foods that come with them, we would be a much healthier nation with lower rates of diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and other illnesses.
