Well, at this point it seems like the whole world needs to make a move to the internet. We already have an extreme investment in social media, email, texting, and digital communication that something like this is about to make it completely worse.
So, what should we do about social distancing? How can we possibly convince those who are already hypochondriacs that it is simply a matter of care? This may be more about my opinion than anything else, but I admit that I don’t see the need to run out to the store and buy all the toilet paper, bread, and bottled water available on the shelves.
It’s understandable that this is a global pandemic and that we all have a reason to worry for ourselves, our children, and definitely our elder family members. We can simply wash our hands more often, and even better. We can make sure to stay a good five or six feet away from people so that we aren’t exchanging air directly.
I guess I don’t see the point in digging a hole and burying myself in until the news tells me all of this is over! What about the rest of you? How are you addressing this matter? I know that it may be easier for me to adjust since I already complete most of my work from online, but I have a hard time seeing the need for panic. Maybe I am just one of those people who believes panic ends up making things more dangerous in the long run.
